Here's your problem right here. Why would you care? It's her game when she's playing. If she's having fun, that's all that matters.

Please stop not taking this seriously.
And if these are both stupid tactics, then what's a better one, aside from avoidance?
Keep in mind, your class/character is irrelveant. In this scenario, it's all about 7 henches.

Play however best suits your playstyle. Each strategy can work, each strategy can also fail miserably, there is no 'best' method. I can say though, that pissing off your girlfriend by calling her a noob, etc over this is incredibly stupid on your part.

You should manipulate the aggro as best as you can... pull them back, then use ctl shift space so warrior run foward, then conitnue pulling back so warriors will hold aggor for a bit, then go foward... why on earth would you just charge into a group of enemies, or invite them into your group to slaughter your casters? (I assume neither of you has really gotten very far, because using tactics like that near end-game would wipe your party... unless you're in prophecies, then any old strategy would work.)
Oh yea, and getting in a fight with your GF over a game IS very stupid as people have been saying lol... if you were bitching at her enough to make her quit the game over it... you two have problems I think.

Actually, my girlfriend and I have both completed all three games, using my strategy, which worked perfectly and effectively every single time.
Furthermore, I'm not calling her a noob. I'm tryign to help her so that she can advance through the game on other characters by herself so she doesn't get frustrated that her group keeps failing.

That is the answer.
Seriously, this is a game. If your girlfriend wants to go and dance with the mob, let her do what she wants...

Definitely the first choice. Henchies don't do anything until they reach the flag, leaving them vulnerable. Also, why the hell would you throw your casters into the middle of a group of Afflicted?

do i have to choose? neither one looks very appealing:
1) let the mob break through all of my lines and rape my squishies or whoever they damn well please.
2) send all my henchies, including my squishies, into the middle of an afflicted mob, to be devoured and defiled, again, as the enemy damn well pleases.
ill pass on this afflicted cluster-fark of a strategy...
*edit* never mind, she's right. whatever she said, she's right!

in this PvE scenario - it makes little to no difference, you can do whatever you want and still pwn the mission.
The incorrect solution is to berate a gf such that she quits playing a game.

Everyone's entitled to their own strategy. I had a similar fight with my boyfriend: we were disagreeing over how the game should be played, and how skills/henches/anything should be managed... and he almost ended up quitting because he got angry at me. I solved the problem by just shutting up about the "right" tactics to use, and let him play how he wants to. When we play together, I keep my mouth shut about some things, drop subtle hints every now and then and try to find a compromise on other things.
It's a sad, sad day when a couple have a fight over something as trivial as a game.
Oh, and I prefer luring mostly, but tactics heavily depend on the situation and the mob.
Edit: I think it would be better to let your girlfriend find her own way through the game, and let her try to find a balance in her own strategies. If she gets frustrated, then at least she's not getting frustrated at you if you just back off and let her play. The beauty of playing alone is the fact that you get to rely on yourself, not on some outside person. Pre-made tactics are boring and totally spoil the joys of discovering them by yourself. Girls like discovering things by themselves, and if they need help, they ask.
